Angel Alanis

When I first got into electronic music it was through the Chicago rave scene in the mid 90's. One name that I remember from countless parties was Angel Alanis. With over 100 releases to his name on many of the legendary labels in house music including Under Construction, Dust Traxx, Jasper Stone Trax, International House Records and Catalyst Recording just to name a few. Mr. Alanis offered up this gem today on his facebook page. It really takes me back to the time when I was partying in Chicago at Route 66 and countless warehouses.

Kamei

At 15 I was doing everything you would have expected someone that age to be doing. But one thing for sure is that I NEVER was producing dance floor smashing tracks that sound like they are from someone twice my age. Then again I'm not 15 year old Brazilian wonder kid Kamei. I wish there was a radio station that played great music like this track. Pure disco house bliss, there's even a little funky break or two mixed in with a splash of Mario Brothers. Haha. The future looks bright with this kid making music!

Harvard Bass Remix

Those of you who check out my blog should remember Harvard Bass. This time around he does an excellent remix for Drop the Lime. This track has everything I love about house music. An infectious bassline, tons and tons of bounce and vocals like no other. This will be in heavy rotation by some very big djs for the rest of the year I'm sure. Enjoy.

The Popular People's Front

With the huge event Alice in Discoland coming up I thought I would share with you guys a few tracks to get you in the mood for the event. And since today is sunday and all I thought I would start with this track. Church Love is an amazing NEW track that sounds like its straight out of 1983. The Popular People's Front has been taking the UK by storm and its very easy to see why. Solid grooves that you cann't help but dance too. I honestly love this kind of music. Great bass lines and upbeat vocals make this track a real groovey thing to behold. So sit back and get some church in your life today. If you ever come across any of their vinyl only releases be sure and scoop them up.

Bingo Players

No I'm not talking about little old ladies who go and play bingo at church. Im talking about the hard hitting duo out of the the Netherlands. The Bingo Players are one of Europes fastest rising production teams and after listening to a few of their tracks its easy to see why. Amazing original productions along side remixes like this one of N.E.R.D. keep dance floors packed around the globe. Hopefully one day soon we will be seeing them on American soil. Till then enjoy this track!

Andrew Decade

Andrew Decade is upcoming dj/producer here in San Diego. After helping me out with a flyer he sent me over his latest remix for one of SD's super hipster bands. (I dont feel the band is even worth mentioning by name, I think they as a band are just as over hyped as they are as djs.) But back to the production work here which I truly like. I especially like the track from about the two minute point on. The thought of a instrumental version floating around feels like a dream though. Make sure to check out his monthly event Electric Feel, the last friday of the month at Lucky D's in the East Village.
